Why This Matters

Breaking Down Barriers to Inclusion

New communities in Ireland face significant barriers to inclusion and integration, often struggling with complex systems, unclear information, and cultural misunderstandings.

These challenges are driven by misinformation, cultural barriers and information poverty, sometimes worsened by complicated policies. Meanwhile, host communities often feel uncertain about meaningful engagement, and front line workers seek better ways to build trust and provide effective support.

"Many people are unaware of their rights and entitlements and information is often inaccessible or not easily available"

— The European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland, 2025
